LongShot LR-3
A wireless, battery-powered target camera system rated by LongShot to 2 miles, for long-range training, load development, and match use.
The LR-3 pairs a downrange camera with a receiver at your shooting position. Live HD video at 2688 × 1512 goes to your phone or tablet through the LongShot app, using LongShot’s “Go the Distance” link. No cell service or Wi-Fi is required. The camera has all-axis adjustment and an over-obstacle design for setting up around berms, brush, and uneven ground.

Why a camera at the target
The camera sits beside the target, roughly 15 to 20 feet back, and can be moved within that range to frame the target. Because the image is captured at the target instead of through a spotting scope from the firing line, mirage and magnification limits at distance are not a factor in seeing your hits.
You confirm each impact from your shooting position. There’s no walking or driving downrange to check paper between strings, no calling the line cold just to look, and no breaking your position and setup to find out where the last group went.
Hit identification and shot data
Video is viewed in the free LongShot app. Pinch to zoom and swipe to pan for a close look at the target. The Blinker Shot Locator makes your newest bullet hole flash so it’s easy to pick out, even on a target that already has a lot of holes in it.
Tap a bullet hole to place a shot marker. The app numbers markers automatically, so every shot in a string is recorded in order. Marker size and color are adjustable, and Mark Group lets you give a string its own color, which keeps separate groups, loads, rifles, or shooters distinct on the same target.
Enter a known distance between two points on the target (two corners work well) and Group Sizing calculates your group size, the distance between the two furthest shots, as each new marker is placed. Zero Adjustment then calculates the correction needed to move point of impact to point of aim. You can save stills, record video, and review past sessions, which makes the system useful for load development, zeroing, and keeping a record of what each rifle and load is doing.
For each shot group, the app lets you identify deviation (point of impact compared with point of aim), dispersion, and group size, giving you consistent data to record across rifles, loads, and range sessions.
Expandable
The LR-3 supports multiple cameras in the LongShot app, so you can add cameras to cover more than one target or distance.
