LongShot Hawk
A spotting scope camera that turns a compatible spotting scope into a live HD target viewer on your phone or tablet.
The Hawk slides over a spotting-scope eyepiece between 36 mm and 58 mm and sends live 1920 × 1080 video to the LongShot app (iOS and Android) over a direct 2.4 GHz connection. No cell service or range Wi-Fi is required. It’s compact, weighs about 1 lb, runs 12+ hours on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and is drop- and weather-resistant.

Your spotting scope, on a screen
The Hawk works with the spotting scope you already use. Instead of moving between the rifle and the scope eyepiece, you see the scope’s view live on a phone or tablet at your shooting position, and a spotter, student, or instructor can watch the same screen. Because the image comes through your spotting scope, what you can see at distance depends on the scope’s optics and on conditions such as mirage.
You confirm impacts from your shooting position, with no walking downrange to check paper between strings and no cameras or tripods to set at the target.
Hit identification and shot data
Video is viewed in the free LongShot app. Pinch to zoom and swipe to pan for a close look at the target. The Blinker Shot Locator makes your newest bullet hole flash so it’s easy to pick out, even on a target that already has a lot of holes in it.
Tap a bullet hole to place a shot marker. The app numbers markers automatically, so every shot in a string is recorded in order. Marker size and color are adjustable, and Mark Group lets you give a string its own color, which keeps separate groups, loads, rifles, or shooters distinct on the same target.
Enter a known distance between two points on the target (two corners work well) and Group Sizing calculates your group size, the distance between the two furthest shots, as each new marker is placed. Zero Adjustment then calculates the correction needed to move point of impact to point of aim. You can save stills, record video, and review past sessions, which makes the system useful for load development, zeroing, and keeping a record of what each rifle and load is doing.
For each shot group, the app lets you identify deviation (point of impact compared with point of aim), dispersion, and group size, giving you consistent data to record across rifles, loads, and range sessions.
